One of the biggest misconceptions is whether or not email marketing is actually an effective method of reaching customers and clients. According to a report compiled by The Radicati Group, a market research firm based in California, there are currently 2.6 billion email users worldwide, and is expected to hit the 3 billion mark by 2020. The report also noted that "In 2016, the number of business and consumer emails sent and received per day [totaled] over 215.3 billion, and is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 4.6% over the next four years, reaching over 257.7 billion by the end of 2020."
